Do you take insurance?
We do not take any form of insurance. We provide standard rates and an income based fee structure for households making under $100,000/year. Although some clients are welcome to submit their receipts to their insurance company for out of network benefits. We do not guarantee any such reimbursement.
What is an income based fee structure?
For those with a household income of under $100,000 we offer a Standardized Income-based Fee structure that is less than our per standard rates. During the phone screening, you will be asked to provide annual or monthly gross household income which will determine your session fee. This session fee is based on gross household income and number of persons in the household.
For more information, please email us at CFTclinic@osu.edu or give us a call at (614)292-3671.
What type of payment do you accept?
We only accept credit card and check as a form of payment. We dot accept cash. All checks are to be made out to The Ohio State University.
How do I make a payment if I am seeing my therapist remotely?
You will be provided an email with a billing link to complete payment by credit card the day of your session.
All check payments can be either dropped off at our clinic between 9:00am – 5pm Monday – Thursday or should be mailed to our clinic address. Please include a note with your payment that states your therapist’s initials and the date(s) of the session(s) for which you are paying.
Do you record all therapy sessions at the clinic?
The OSU Couple and Family Therapy Clinic is a behavioral health training clinic. The majority of our clinicians are graduate students in the OSU Couple and Family Therapy program. For this reason, ALL therapy sessions held at the CFT clinic and via telehealth must be recorded, as required by the Couple and Family Therapy Program. Session recordings are used in supervision for educational purposes only and are not a part of the client’s clinical record. Non-clients are notified of this policy verbally during the telephone intake process and in writing as they complete the initial intake forms.
Clients who are reluctant to agree to being recorded will be given referrals elsewhere. It is clinic policy not to provide therapy to clients who are reluctant to be observed or video recorded since all therapy must be available for supervision.
How do I make an initial appointment?
To make an intake appointment please call our office at (614)292-3671 or email us at CFTclinic@osu.edu. When we are able to, we will connect on the phone and take about 15 minutes to complete our phone screening process. If we believe that we can provide you with the level of service required after the phone screening, then we will schedule your first appointment.
